GrootSchip® 48 ft (GS 48)
New style concept in yacht building for connoisseurs in search of class.
The GrootSchip® 48 was designed by Tjeerd A. Groot in cooperation with Gaastmeer Naval Architecture & Engineering shipbuilding design consultants.
Departure point for the design is a stylish, spacious and comfortable single-propeller, custom-made motor yacht. The design is based on style elements of the fifties and sixties, enhanced with modern techniques and classifications. The steel round-bilge yacht has a radiused transom, broad gangways and low height above waterline to top of fixed structure (2.70 m) with plenty of space on the (teak) fore and aft decks. The 'familiale' model has 7+2 berths (3 cabins) and the 'comfort' model has 4+2 berths (2 cabins). The ship has a striking maritime interior (optional layout) with distinctive furnishings designed by Jeannetti Decorateurs. The galley is an open L-shape and on the same level as the saloon. Standing height is 2 m in the saloon, 1.90 m in the forecabin and 1.85 m in the aft cabin. Double steering is standard. The superstructure is low-maintenance mahogony woodgrain effect (decorative painting technique) . Considerable attention has also been paid to the propulsion system, designed with a view to optimising fuel consumption and minimising noise levels. The ship is intentionally designed to have no 'overcapacity'.
